Wild weekend on the island of Møn

Unique experiences in Denmark's wildest natural landscape and challenging outdoor activities

7 local companies offer a weekend trip to Møn, with 2 overnight stays in pleasant accommodation, meals made from local produce and wild nature experiences: Hiking on the ‘Camøno’, riding a mountain bike at Møns Klint, kayaking in friendly natural waters, and a 'Dark Sky' tour in Møn's dark - and maybe starry - night.

Before the trip, you choose your accommodation: either Hotel Residens Møn (Stege), Bed & Breakfast ‘Købmandsgården’ (Råbylille), or a quality camping cabin at Camping Mønbroen or Møns Klint Resort. All four types of accommodation are ‘one of a kind’ in their various categories.

Dark Sky experiences

We greet you at your accommodation Friday afternoon with a local welcoming drink. Then we depart for eastern Møn, where we will hike on the Camøno, through the wild natural landscape of Møns Klint. Friday evening is set aside for a Dark Sky experience. As the first destination in Denmark, Møn has been nominated a 'Dark Sky Park' by the international Dark Sky Foundation, because the darkness of the night and the starry sky is well protected against light pollution. After dinner made from local specialities at the ‘Dark Sky Restaurant’, we offer you a guided night tour in East Møn’s natural landscape, under the dark – and hopefully starry – sky, where you can hear about the importance of darkness for animals and humans.

First-hand outdoor adventures

On Saturday morning, we offer you a rare outdoor experience – kayaking. After an introduction by a professional instructor and a test tour, you can enjoy nature and birdlife on the friendly and shallow waters of Ulvsund. The event ends with a pleasant lunch made from local produce around a camp fire. On Saturday afternoon, we offer you a guided mountain bike ride in the unique forest and nature areas around Møns Klint. Afterwards, we return to Stege, where we will have a late afternoon drink at ‘Baryhl Bar’ and hear recommendations about culinary Stege and where to go dining. Dinner and the rest of the evening are up to your own discretion.

Hiking and "Nordic tapas"

On Sunday morning, we go hiking on the Camøno in western Møn. The guide will introduce you to the landscape and cultural history of this part of the island – with visits to burial mounds, Fanefjord Church with its fantastic medieval frescos, and ‘Hårbøllehuset’, a charming, tiny cultural centre. The eventful weekend will finish with a delicious lunch of "Nordic tapas" at Hotel Residens Møn, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the sea.
