A journey through centuries of tradition

Amber has been produced in Gdańsk for centuries. The oldest traces of amber workshops located in the city date back to the 10th century. Today, the city is known as the World Capital of Amber and is responsible for more than 70% of the world production of jewellery and other objects made from amber.

The ancient Amber Route that led through Gdańsk has left an amber spirit in the city, which is present in many spheres of life. This includes not only particular museums or amber workshops, but also new factories, modern jewellery, bold design, as well as amber spa treatments or sophisticated amber menus in the restaurants. So, if you would like to feel this incredible amber atmosphere for yourself, we will be more than happy to host you in Gdańsk.
